Northern Wales is hands down one of the top camping spots in the UK 🌄 The breathtaking views, endless hiking trails, and charming little towns make it a must-visit for every adventurer.

And right in the heart of Northern Wales, our favorite camping spot has to be the peaceful village of Llanberis in Snowdonia National Park at the ‘Camping in Llanberis’ campsite.

Camping In Llanberis

Camping In Llanberis Campsite

Hidden in the hills along a quiet country road just above Llanberis town center, the rustic ‘Camping in Llanberis’ campsite awaits 🏕️

This is a true back-to-basics experience – check in at reception, then choose any spot you like on their wide open camping grounds.

Camping in Llanberis

With almost no phone signal and only basic facilities like toilets, drinking water, and showers, camping here is the perfect chance to relax and disconnect from the hustle of everyday life 🌿

The real highlight for us? The breathtaking views. Every morning, unzipping the tent to cook breakfast while gazing over the sparkling waters of Llanberis Lake was simply magical.

Who needs luxury when you’ve got natural vistas like this

For anyone planning to hike the Llanberis Path up Snowdon, the campsite sits perfectly at the start of the trail 🥾

Even if you choose a different route, all the trails are just a short drive away. We went up the Watkin Path, only a quick twenty-minute drive from the campsite.

Watkin Path
Snowdon Base Camp is only a one-mile walk from either the Rhyd Ddu and Snowdon Ranger Path.

Llanberis town center is just a five-minute walk from the campsite, making it super easy to grab supplies or treat yourself after a day full of adventures 🌟

The town has some amazing spots to explore too. Walking around Llanberis Lake is a must, and you can watch the paddle boarders—or try it yourself for some extra fun.

If you’re brave enough for the cold, a morning dip in the lake is incredibly refreshing. I took one on our last day and honestly wish I had done it every morning!

Another hidden gem to explore is the Ceunant Mawr Waterfall, just off the Llanberis Path and only a fifteen-minute walk from the campsite 🌊

Secret Infinity Pool – Where Is It?

We won’t spoil the surprise, but the famous secret infinity pool is just a short distance from Llanberis 💦

We made an afternoon of it and walked there. Most of the route was fine, though some parts have no pavement, so stay alert and watch for passing vehicles to stay safe.
