The route includes a <b>fairly long climb<\/b> to the tops of both <b>Caerketton Hill<\/b> and <b>Allermuir Hill<\/b>. This demanding effort is similar to the climb on <a href=\"https:\/\/hikeriderun.com\/arthurs-seat\"><b>Arthur&#8217;s Seat<\/b><\/a>, but sustained over a greater distance.\u00a0<\/p><p>The reward from the summits is immense. I was <b>rewarded with excellent views<\/b> across a massive area. I could clearly see <b>Edinburgh<\/b>, the Lothian coast, <b>Bass Rock<\/b>, and the distant <b>Lammermuir Hills<\/b>. The hill paths require strong footing. The route is relatively open. There are <b>no stiles and just a few gates<\/b> to pass through.\n\nI noted that <b>much of the route passes through active agricultural land<\/b>. Responsible walking is essential. <b>Whilst dogs are welcome please keep them on a lead<\/b>. I completed this strenuous circular <b>explore<\/b> (about <b>7 miles<\/b>) in approximately <b>4 hours<\/b>.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
