Forget Bournemouth or Brighton – this humble village in Northumberland, with just 400 residents, was crowned Britain’s Best Seaside Resort for 2023 🏖️! And not just once or twice… but three years in a row in a poll conducted by Which? 🔥.

Wow, Bamburgh! ✨
The stunning coastal village in Northumberland, with just 400 residents 👀, has once again been crowned Britain’s Best Seaside Resort by Which? Magazine! As if it’s saying to everyone: I’m the best! 🔥

Bamburgh isn’t just any village – its sea is enchanting 🌊, with golden sands stretching over 3 miles 🏝️, and soft green dunes giving you plenty of space to relax, sunbathe, or explore the natural beauty of the beach 😍.

And of course, we can’t forget the historic Bamburgh Castle 🏰, around 900 years old, perched on a rock overlooking the North Sea – a perfect spot for photos 📸.

But the win wasn’t just about the scenery. The Which? award is based on an annual survey that looks at beach quality, activities, accommodation, services, value for money, and of course, the natural surroundings 🌿.

Bamburgh received an overall score of 88% thanks to its clean beach, rich cultural heritage, and variety of outdoor activities 🥳.

The lowest ratings were just two stars for shopping and three stars for food and drink 😅, so if you visit, you might want to bring a picnic 🥪. The other categories—peace and quiet, the promenade, the beach, accommodation, and value for money—were all 5 stars 💯, more than making up for anything else.

For adventure seekers:

  • You can walk along the Northumberland Coastal Path, one of the most beautiful natural areas 🌊🚶‍♂️.

  • Nature lovers can enjoy spotting seals, dolphins, and a variety of birds 🦭🐬🦅.

  • Water sports enthusiasts can go surfing or kayaking 🏄‍♀️🛶.

  • History lovers will enjoy Bamburgh Castle, the former royal seat of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Northumberland 🏰📜.

With the rising cost of living 💸, places like Bamburgh have become even more attractive for travel.

And even if you’ve heard of famous beaches, they aren’t necessarily better in terms of enjoyment or value 💡. As Rory Polland, editor, said… Which? Travel :
“The most famous spots are rarely the best for visitors… try a new place this year—the survey shows less crowding and better value.” 👏

And we couldn’t agree more! Congratulations to Bamburgh on the crown once again! 🏆🌊
